Ask any college student, and they’ll probably tell you that access to a computer is absolutely essential to their studies. Still, there are plenty who don't have computers of their own.
For the past three years, Cyprus Credit Union has donated some if its used computer equipment to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) so they can be given to students who would like their own personal computers. On Wednesday, February 9, Cyprus donated nine computer sets to SLCC. Each set of equipment included a PC, monitor, hard drive, keyboard, mouse, and accompanying cables.
"The donation will go a long way," says SLCC scholarship officer Mario Organista. "The technology gaps SLCC students face is extremely difficult, especially during the last year. Some students had to do homework on their phones due to our campuses closing earlier or not having access to libraries due to COVID."
We are happy to contribute to education in the community any way we can and are glad these computers will be put to good use.
