Cyprus Promotes Reading and Literacy through Read Across America Day
Cyprus Credit Union was the proud sponsor of ‘Read Across America Day’ at Bacchus Elementary School. The event, organized by the Kearns High Latinos in Action (LIA) club, was a resounding success, fostering a love for reading and promoting literacy among local students.
During the event, Kearns High students led small group readings with Bacchus Elementary students, guiding them through interactive activities related to the books. In addition to the reading sessions, students enjoyed a small snack, such as fruit snacks, provided by the LIA club. This event aimed not only to encourage reading but also to build connections between high school and elementary students, strengthening community bonds.
Cyprus Credit Union’s generous sponsorship made it possible for every Bacchus Elementary student to receive a book to take home—something that had been made possible in previous years through United Way grants. With the loss of grant funding this year, Cyprus Credit Union stepped in to ensure that the event could continue its tradition of providing books to young readers. Our contribution covered the purchase of books for each student at Bacchus Elementary.
This event marked a meaningful collaboration between local high school students, elementary students, and the community. It promoted literacy, provided mentorship, and brought together individuals dedicated to supporting education. Cyprus Credit Union is honored to have been part of such an impactful initiative and is excited to continue supporting projects that contribute to the growth and development of young minds.
Cyprus Credit Union extends its gratitude to the Kearns High Latinos in Action club for their hard work and dedication to the event, and looks forward to continuing its involvement in future educational initiatives that make a positive impact on the community.
