Notarization is a valuable service that ensures important documents are authentically signed and deters any fraud. But many struggle to access notary services due to mobility issues.
In partnership with the Utah Black Chamber of Commerce, Good Vibes Mobile Notary was selected to receive a $1,000 grant from Cyprus Credit Union in 2025. The Utah Black Chamber is an organization helping to improve the lives of black professionals and business leaders across the state, and create equitable workplaces.
"My business provides notarial services for real estate transactions, legal matters, and personal documents," says Marie Hansen, owner of Good Vibes Mobile Notary. "I aim to simplify the notarization process and make it more accessible for everyone."
In 2023, Marie saw a need for more accessible notarial services in the community, inspired by real-life experience.
"My journey began when I recognized a significant need in the community for accessible notary services. This realization hit home when a close friend of mine, who was disabled, passed away. I saw firsthand how difficult it was for individuals with mobility challenges to access notary services. Inspired by this experience, I decided to launch my mobile notary service to provide convenient and compassionate support to those in need within our community."
Marie's approach aims to provide compassionate support to those with mobility issues, and she goes above and beyond to ensure each of her clients is completely satisfied. And she won't stop there. She will soon launch remote notary services, so clients can have document notarized from the comfort of their own home or office.
Marie's Advice for Future Business Owners
"In just a few steps, I would advise them to follow their passion, build a strong network, and seek mentorship. I resonate with the phrase 'work smarter, not harder,' as it emphasizes the importance of not reinventing the wheel. There are many individuals who have been in your position and can share valuable insights on how they achieved success. Learning from their experiences can be incredibly beneficial."
